Shop These 12 Sites To Support American Veterans

Having courageously served overseas, many veterans return home and for a wide variety of reasons, have problems finding a good job. Below are 12 companies started by and employing mostly veterans. Here is a good way to support veterans, including ideas for Christmas shopping and other special occasion ideas.

Bearded Veterans Club

“In the military, facial hair is not an option and you must shave every day! When you become a veteran and retire from active duty, you want to grow a Freedom Beard!

“Bearded Veterans Club is U.S. Veteran Owned and Operated. We created Bearded Veterans Club Grooming Co. to help you take care of that Freedom Beard. We pledge to provide you with beard care products made of the finest ingredients to give your beard the look, feel, smell, and nutrition it deserves!

“Salute your beard with premium beard products that will moisturize, strengthen, and help grow that beautiful beard! Bearded Veterans Club is for anyone looking to maintain a healthy beard, whether you are a veteran or not, you can definitely benefit from our premium products. Bearded Veterans Club is American Veteran owned, operated, and proudly manufactured in the United States of America.”

Black Rifle Coffee Company

“Black Rifle Coffee Company is a premium small-batch, roast-to-order, veteran-owned coffee company. At BRCC, we import our high-quality coffee beans directly from Colombia and Brazil. Then, we personally blend and roast every one of our kick-ass coffees to be shipped directly to you.”

Combat Flip Flops

“Each day brings tragic events. Decades of radicalism fueled by ignorance create indifference and helplessness. The cycle of violence and injustice continues. As humans, we should have figured this out by now. Can it change?

“We felt the same way too.  Asked the same question.  As business leaders, we listened to the rhetoric, and saw the hypocrisy.  As special operations veterans, we ‘defended our freedom,’ and discovered the wars went against everything we hoped for. Through understanding and compassion, we found a new path forward--a mechanism of change.

“It’s simple. Grow entrepreneurs in conflict areas. Build Communities. Fund women's education. But what do you need to do? Buy a product made in a conflict zone. Join The Unarmed Forces. Be a part of a community built on hope, passion, and strength.  Rebuild nations.  Create change.”

Dog Tag Bakery

“Making it deliciously simple for you to empower the lives of our veterans and military families. From the early hours of each morning, our bakery is mixing up batches of handmade baked goods while providing valuable work experience for veterans, military spouses and caregivers.

“The Dog Tag Fellowship program combines education with hands-on experience to create a living business school, building a bridge to employment and helping veterans and military families find fulfillment in their professional and personal lives.”

Go Ruck

“Founded by a Green Beret, GORUCK is an American brand with Special Forces roots. Excellence, toughness, and adaptability are the pillars of our way of life, which influence how we do, what we do:

“GEAR & APPAREL - From start to finish, we design, test, and proudly overbuild gear and performance apparel - in the USA - so that it thrives in Baghdad and NYC. Green Berets serve as judge and jury of quality.

“FOOTWEAR - The best story in the history of footwear. Old school Special Forces. Post-9/11 modern day Special Forces. Inventor of the Reebok Pump. MACV-1 honors the heritage of the Vietnam-era jungle boot and adapts it to the modern day, all terrain requirements of traveling, training, rucking — and assaulting.

“RUCKING - Moving with weight on your back is the foundation of Special Forces training - and GORUCK Events. Rucking combines strength and cardio, is adaptable to anyone’s goals based on the amount of weight carried, and is a popular, empowering activity for those who hate to run or find it boring.”

The Maine Knife Company

“The Maine Knife Company, is based out of Bangor, Maine. We are a registered Veteran Owned Company. Our mission is to design, produce and sell limited edition custom made knives of the finest quality available. Our knives are designed to increase in value due to their design quality and limited production runs of each knife type. Each of our knives are designed in Maine by J.P. Nickerson to serve a specific purpose and comes individually numbered with a hand signed certificate of authenticity, a Maine Knife Company brass coin, and a signed and dated limited edition design print of the specific knife purchased.”

Oscar Mike Apparel

“We utilize 100% of donations to the Oscar Mike Foundation Public Non-Profit and proceeds from our Oscar Mike Apparel Sales to provide support to injured Veterans looking for an opportunity to stay active. By focusing on the arena of adaptive sports, the Oscar Mike Foundation assists in offering an outlet for an ongoing competitive lifestyle to thousands of American Veterans who have sacrificed for the defense of our country.”

Stella Valle

“Stella Valle is a brand that inspires confidence in who you are and where you are going.  Our designs portray the feminine strength that helped us pursue our dreams in fashion.  We know the same mental toughness exists in each of you. Our ‘Modern Charm’ designs allow you to tell the world who you are and what inspires you.

“From the beginning, our vision has been to inspire women to be authentic, achieve their biggest dreams, and have a positive impact on others. As sisters, West Point graduates and Army veterans, we used our extraordinary experiences as inspiration to co-found and design Stella Valle. The brand is growing rapidly and is universally recognized by major fashion and entrepreneur magazines as one to watch.

“Service and giving back has always been a part of who we are. We continue to support women and veterans through our ‘Be One Give Back’ program. We are very fortunate to be doing what we love.”

Sword & Plough

“How incredible would it be to repurpose military surplus material into durable and fashionable bags that people could use every day? By incorporating veterans into every stage of the business (from design, to sewing, management, fulfillment, sales, even modeling), we could empower veteran employment. Through its branding and outreach, Sword & Plough could help bridge the civil-military divide. The repurposed bags could be used as conversation pieces and the company could become a platform to strengthen understanding between civilians and the veteran community.”

B O T T L E  B R E A C H E R™

“Bottle Breacher is one of the fastest growing Veteran Owned and Operated businesses in Arizona. Former Navy SEAL, Eli Crane, and his wife Jen brought to Shark Tank their sole product of the recycled, authentic decommissioned .50 caliber Bottle Breacher, manufactured in a one car garage. “We aim to provide the best hand crafted, personalized man-gifts, groomsman gifts and corporate/promotional products on the market. Our mantra is built on our Made in the USA promise driven by the belief that it is our duty to serve those who serve us. With our success, we donated to over 200 non-profits in the last year alone, providing us the opportunity to support Military Veterans, Active Military Personnel, First Responders, Children’s Foundations and various other non-profits.”

Started by a team of US military veterans, Rumi sources saffron from local Afghan farms and employs more than 1900 women in Herat, Afghanistan to hand-harvest the delicate crimson stigmas of the flowers. Committed to empowering Afghan women and bolstering the country’s economy, Rumi reinvests back into agricultural and manufacturing infrastructure. We are laying a foundation for peace, one saffron flower at a time.”
